POCO F5 Design and Display
The POCO F5 has a plastic unibody design with polished finish on back, which is magnetised to fingerprints and smudges. To your satisfaction, POCO packs a transparent TPU case into your phone. There’s a carbon pattern on the back panel, which is not very visible until you light it up. For a 5,000mAh battery cell, the device has flat edges and is relatively light. The POCO F5 tips the scales at 181 grams, which makes it comfortable to use for a long time.
In the front, the POCO F5 is almost identical to its predecessor, the POCO F4, in terms of its AMOLED punchhole 6.7 inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display offers an advanced 120 Hz refresh rate, a maximum fHD+2,4001,080p resolution of Dolby VisionHDR10+ and support for its playback. The colour depth increase combined with 1,000 nits of brightness creates an immersive viewing experience whether you’re indoors or outdoors playing video games, watching movies and television.
POCO F5 Cameras
The rear camera setup and performance of the POCO F5 is identical to that of its predecessor, the POCO F4. A 64MP primary sensor is included in the phone along with an 8MP Ultra Wide Sensor and a 2MP macro unit. In bright areas or in daylight, a 64MP primary sensor with OIS performs exceptionally well for capturing impressive images. Sharp and clear details are shown in the resulting photographs, with a good balance of colours. Compared to nonHDR images, it shows increased exposure and improved contrast as regards HDR on POCO F5.
Talking about the front camera, which seems to have been downgraded to 16MP from the 20MP unit found on its predecessor, takes selfies with good facial detail. But when it comes to dim lighting, the colors may look a bit inaccurate. Moreover, there are a lot of modes available to the POCO F5 cameras including portrait mode which offers natural bokeh effect but needs improvement in edge detection and an innovative film mode.

POCO F5 Performance
The latest midrange chipset from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is driving the POCO F5. The POCO F5 is perfectly capable of handling everything. It does not stutter or slow down, regardless of any task thrown at it. The device’s performance in the gaming arena is admirable. It’s able to run graphically demanding games such as Call of Duty and Asphalt 9 smoothly with large graphics settings and frame rates.
One of the best choices for users looking for a high level of performance is POCO F5. There are a couple of RAM options on the phone: 8GB and 12GB, which can also be expanded by using virtual RAM. The phone has 256 GB of storage, which makes it incompatible with user expansion. From the software perspective, POCO F5 comes with a 13 version of Google’s MIUI 14 running on it. It’s good to see a company offering the latest software right from the box.
POCO F5 Battery Life
The POCO F5 has a 5000mAh battery and 67W of power for rapid charging. The device will be charged from nothing in approximately 45 to 50 minutes. As soon as the battery level hits 100 per cent, it will provide an unlimited day’s duration even with heavy use. The phone offers a screen time of up to 7 hours and performs exceptionally well in the PCMark battery test, which gives it an aggregate score of 14 hours and 36 minutes.
POCO F5 5G
The flagship feature of POCO smartphones, a unique offering that is not found in any other mobile phone from this segment, is the 12 bit display panel. In addition, the POCO F5 is equipped with a capable chipset, stereo speakers and a solid battery life, which contributes to a better gaming and multimedia experience. If you are attracted to these aspects, POCO F5 should prove a good buy on the price.
